Ripley is a gelding that we have had in our program for the last year and a half. He will sit like a dog, lay down on command, and has been started in liberty work. He is extremely versatile. One day, you can go rope and doctor cattle, and the next day put an english saddle on him. He also recently started in the cart, making for a fun weekend stroll. He has been a handy horse to have around, as we've used him to pony younger stock and problem horses in training. He has been hauled all over and trail ridden by beginners. Everyone that comes to the barn wants to ride Ripley. He is always taking care of his rider, whether it be kids, grandparents, single, double or triple. He is soft in the face, and responsive to leg cues, but just as easily point and go. He will be the first to greet you at the gate, and happy to do whatever you ask of him. He can be turned out with other horses, or kept in the stall without any vices. He will side-pass over to a mounting block, rock, log, or ledge; or you can just lay him down to make mounting a breeze. He has been exposed to farm machinery, busy traffic, and gunfire and he is the same sturdy horse in new situations. He has always been the same horse with time off as he would be in a 5 day training program. Ripley will be selling May 22nd at the Horseman's Mission Select Sale. We would love for you to come out and meet him prior to the sale! Give us a call to schedule an appointment to get to know Ripley!
