Duke - SOLD
WATCH VIDEO! Duke copyright’s the term “been there, done that.” Duke started his career in the reined cowhorse, has been used for ranch work in the deep brush, switch ender in the roping pen and will follow my 1 year old daughter around like an old gentle labrador retriever. What I love most about Duke, is that I can lay him off for 2 weeks, throw a leg over him and he can spin like a top, or he will scale back and realize a little girl wants to lead him around the arena for 20 minutes and he will follow around with such a willing, babysitter attitude. Duke is the type of gelding that checks the most important boxes- safety, disposition, athleticism, and personality. We have asked Duke to do a little bit of anything, and everything. He started his career in the reined cowhorse, so he will ride around with handle. Duke has been on both ends of the roping pen, and doctored cattle out on the pasture. He has a deep stop off of your seat, fun and correct turn arounds, and smooth transitions. This is the type of gelding you can use for a week, or lay him off for 45 days, and he doesn’t forget a thing. Duke is always the first to meet you at the gate, no matter how far or hard you rode the previous day. Duke knows what real work looks like on the ranch, and has seen and done more than horses twice his age. He has been hauled around to the roping pen, different state parks to trail ride, and ridden in the brush. Ride him on the ranch, down the trail or haul him to a ranch horse show. He is versatile enough to work a cow, and gentle enough to relax in the woods. He is great outside the arena, carefully placing his feet to take care of his rider in any situation. He has a wonderful personality, if you are looking for a horse to bond with, and spend time with outside of riding- Duke is your guy.
