Watch Video! Buffalo

Watch Video! Buffalo has earned his name. He has worked on the ranch for a living, and has traveled from the east to the west coast on the trail. Last year he was ridden in the Black Hills of Custer, South Dakota and then on to Bryce Canyon, Utah where he negotiated the Pariah River and rode the slots. He was ridden to the top of Bryce National Park where he rode the Butch Cassidy Trail.

Buffalo has a nice big extended ranch walk, and comfortable jog, extended trot, and lope. If you like a horse that you don’t have to peddle along on the trail to keep up with your friends, you will enjoy him. If you are an intermediate or experienced rider, you would appreciate his body control and the way he reads you as a rider. He is an uphill built gelding, so I could see him go into the western dressage. He is excellent on the trail, crossing water, bridges, brush, debris etc. Buffalo will frame up, or ride around supple on a drape rein. He will slow down into a rocker chair type lope or slower jog, but if you are riding more forward in your seat and leg, so will he. He has certainly seen a lot of different scenarios in his short life, and with that does carry a few battle wounds, but nothing that affects his soundness. He has been ridden alongside the road, getting used to traffic. Worried about getting on? Just step up on the mounting block, gate, fence or hill and he will sidepass over to you to make mounting a breeze. If you are looking for a versatile gelding to enjoy in the arena, or down the trail- Buffalo is your guy!
